By merging the old with the new, a major renovation of the Charles Street Residence, designed by DX Architects, transforms a double-fronted heritage Victorian dwelling in Richmond. While the residential architectural design retains and enhances the existing heritage dwelling, a contemporary double-storey addition takes the home to another level. An innovative window and skylight all-in-one design element maximises the view and captures sunlight into a first-floor rumpus room.

A series of cleverly placed skylights cast natural light into the interior that features white walls and an exposed mottled grey brick feature fireplace, complemented by Tongue n Groove European oak timber flooring. An innovative window and skylight maximise the view and captures sunlight into the first floor rumpus room. The interior flows seamlessly to the outdoor entertaining spaces. The positioning of feature pendant and wall lights define the various functions of the flexible open plan living room.

Tongue n Groove solid engineered European oak floorboards in the Alpacca colour, Eterno classic wire-brushed finish and Grande format feature throughout the interior and continue up the staircase. Alpacca features light honey tones with accents of grey and a deeply wire-brushed, lime-washed grain, perfect for those who are after a slightly weathered look.
